Catholic Healthcare Maroubra
Development of an integrated aged care campus
The Catholic Healthcare Maroubra project involved the development of an integrated aged care campus on a site that is currently occupied and used by Maroubra RSL Memorial Bowling Club.
The site has an approximately area of 10,850 sqm where the development comprises of 108 residential aged care facilities, up to 70 independent living units, basement carparking, community services hub, and open space landscaping.
Bonacci Group are engaged to provide structural and civil engineering services including flood modelling for the site.
Our team prepared for the flood assessment report and associated flood maps for Catholic Healthcare Maroubra where the primary aim of this study was to assess the suitability of the site at 481-499 Maroubra Road, Maroubra for redevelopment.
The requirement from the Randwick City Council is for the redevelopment of the site to maintain or improve existing flow paths thus, the objective is to ensure no adverse impact from the proposed redevelopment.
Bonacci Group concluded that the site was suitable for the proposed redevelopment as it can be demonstrated that proposed strategies including elevated buildings, proposed landscape bunds and flow paths can control external flood levels.
